Fechsers in Germany

Johan Friedrich Fechser, our immigrant ancestor, was born near Weikersheim, Germany, where his father was born. The Fechser family lived in Weikersheim Germany for at least 300 years. Weikersheim is located on the Tauber River in Württemberg, close to the border of Bavaria, and just 18 miles northwest of the famous Rothenburg ob der Tauber.

Nassau

Johann Friedrich Fechser, our immigrant ancestor, was born in Nassau, near Weikersheim, in 1825.

Scheinhardsmühle

Johann Friedrich Fechser’s mother was born at this mill near Weikersheim and he later apprenticed here to his Uncle.

Hamburg

Johann Friedrich Fechser’s parents moved here when he was 7. He followed 18 years later, before emigrating in 1853.
